Perhaps this is because she does not sing in a particularly wide range on ‘Redemption’, and stays more or less on the same level throughout songs, allowing the music to soar around her. ATOMIC REDEMPTION are fronted by vocalist Jasmin Baggenstos who’s mid to low vocal style is similar to that of many popular male prog vocalists, however once the brain knows it is a women singing, the ears adapt and it comes through easier. On first listen I had to double check that I was listening to the correct album. Originally starting out as a symphonic act, after a period of line-up changes the dust has settled and a progressive five-piece has emerged with their debut self-released album ‘Redemption’ Zürich based ATOMIC SYMPHONY has existed as a project since 2009.
